Lush forests would turn brown and eventually barren, then pink, then return to a vibrant green state. Every so often in game time (perhaps every month, or maybe every two months or something?) you could see changes starting to take place throughout the entirety of the world. I'm not sure whether or not I like it this way, or if I would prefer it replaced with seasonal changes in the next game. Granted, it is much cooler than having everything being a monotone of generic fields and forests, but it does seem like there are drastic differences between areas not very far from one another, and environments in Tamriel feel very unchanging. There also isn't much of a transition from the plain-like region surrounding the Imperial City into the forestest area in the Great Forest or the West Weald. But in Oblivion, for example, the peaks of the Jerall Mountains are permanently covered with snow, and there's a pretty definite 'border' between the snowy terrain and the somewhat desert-like terrain of the Colovian Highlands right nearby. Primarily this applies to Cyrodiil, so I'm not sure if the case will persist in Skyrim, especially since it sounds like the whole thing will be sort of monochromatic as far as environments go. Just thinking about this today- it seems kind of odd for there to be SO much contrast between the different regions of Tamriel without there even being all that much space in between these different regions.
